How the hell do i get a computer to install an OS to other than C:\ fresh install. i need it to install to M:\

well generally, you would boot off the CD and choose a seperate partition to install the OS to (obviously you cant do this in windows).
Ive not tried installign OS's to the same partition although I've a feeling its easily done.
If you have a partition called M it should just be visible when selecting the location?

depends on the OS tbh.... windows is a pain as it usually defaults to C:\ but it can be done.
Linux pretty much lets you put it where you want anyhow
with windows, if M is already a seperate partition, it should give you the option after booting from the cd of which drive you wish to install on, then select M easy enough
