Ive been invited to take pictures of horse jumpers.
Now a few things, im stuck for ideas. They wont let me very close to the jumps incase i scare the horses, and with an 18-55, and my pentax not coming due to out of stock at the moment, i may be scupperd.
Im thinking of shooting some wider angled movenment shots, sith 1/125 shutter speeds (like car pics) to have the horse still and background a bit blurred, but apart from that i can think of nothing.
Is just ive never even thort about horses before.

You'll find it a lot more difficult to use the car technique with horses, as the rider is moving all over the place, as well as the horses legs etc.
I'd try and get a few 'action' type shots, using a fast shutter to catch them going up and over the jumps. Wide angle might work if you have a few horses in shot.
Give it a go, worst case you will have to go back with a longer zoom at a later date and have another go - not a disaster I bet.

Best thing you can do is experiment. If it doesn't work you know not to do it again

the first pic would be better in portrait looking towards the horse coming over, will try get a few like that, then also try from the side in landscape, using the fence as a centerline and then crop etc.
and im not sure how close im allowed, something like 8/10 metres i'd guess?
