Got a decent quote on a GLS (1.4 16v) and wondering what differences between them and the sport are?

Brother (TNM) said GLS are poverty spec ones but a look on parkers shows they aren't, I know about the sports having extra a CD player, sports seats, alarm and alloys

Are the any others? suspension? etc

is it the GLS that sometimes comes with leather? or am i mistaking it?

not all sports came with a cd player, they do have air con or a sun roof though. don't know if the GLS has them or not. the boot spoiler didn't come on a GLS either iirc

CDX sometimes comes with leather, and a few Irmy bits, occasionally.

GLS is basically one up from the LS. You get things like electric windows, sun roof, electric & heated mirrors, central locking.

Are we talking pre or post-97? 'cause they have slightly different specs.

The Sport will be more on insurance because it's 'sporty'. Alloys, spoiler, -10mm lower iirc. HOWEVER you sometimes don't get elec windows iirc. Could be wrong. Parkers is pretty accurate for spec

On the Corsa B, GLS is quite high spec. On a Corsa C GLS became low spec.

also have different gearboxes, 1.4 16v GLS has a longer ratio box than the 1.4 16v sport. Quite a noticable difference in acceleration too from experience

Put it this way, GLS is something your Nan would buy, Sport is something you'd buy.

I had a Corsa B GLS. Mine had been a showroom demonstrator car so it had a pretty decent spec. Only thing I ever wanted extra was the SXi/Sport interior. But it had everything else... electric windows, electric/heated/colour coded mirrors, colour coded bumpers, sunroof, PAS, airbag, rear head rests, pearlescent metalic paint, central locking and upgraded stereo (or so I was told. were rear speakers standard?)

Rear speakers weren't standard no. Might have been on post-97 though.

I wish I had a Sport interior too

Oh well, guess it was all sales patter!
I thought it had a good spec for a wee car when I was 17/18 though.

Yes. Springs only iirc, and about -10mm, so not noticeable. The GSi was really noticeable.
