lol, the two monitors =£500, the CPU best part of £700 plus the rest.
I've also just ordered a Synology CS407, I plan to stick in 4x 1TB samsung F1 hard drives in a raid 5 array.
I nearly lost all my data on my netgear SC101 (which is a bag of shit), slow and no redundency. 5 years of photos and around 400 movies .
This will be a much better alternative, plus the CS407 is brimming with features, but most of all very quick file transfer
I cant find a single bad review for it, the only thing people are moaning about is no hot swappable hard disks, but you simpyl have to power-down and swap the drive out, the system does the rest.

Holy shit I have 1TB and am struggling to fill the 2 drives with movies/songs. I want an external 500GB drive for back up as well. That'll do me for quite a while.
I didn't realise the cpu was that expensive either

Well, i have over 400 movies, many many photos, but with this setup, it'll allow for me to make regular backups from both my PC and my partners laptop.
The main reason for the synology is the Raid 5 array, i really want my important stuff of redundecy.
I've not fully made up my mind yet, as the 500gb are £45, the 750gb are £75 and the 1TB are £100.
Sticking the biggest disks in now, just saves me doing it later on down the line.
It doesnt seem that long ago people thought i was crazy for buying a 1gb hard disk with my new AMD machine, thinking i'd never fill the thing up!
I actually bought the CPU for £480 brand new and sealed from ebay, a right bargin I thought!

Just a thought - have you not considered getting a SSD in there?

I'm waiting for them to come down in price. Is the biggest still not 64GB only?
Price is mega £££ at the moment for the actual size.

Doesnt even use FAT32/NTFS so your forced to use there shite software.
Roll on the Synology.
