Despite occasional outbursts of cup success such as this year's Carling Cup win, Tottenham has never recaptured the glory days of 1960-61. Managed by former player Bill Nicholson, that year's club became the first team of the 20th century to win the English league and cup double. Prosaic midtable comfort that has become the habitual fare for the long suffering White Hart Lane faithful

A perennial force in Scottish football, Celtic became iin 1967 the first British club—and still the only Scottish team—to win the European Cup. Glasgow's traditionally Catholic team won all four major competitions they entered that season—an unprecedented feat in British football. Eclipsed by archrivals Rangers in the 1990s, Celtic is again riding high in Scottish soccer.

Newcastle's greatest success came a century ago, when it won three English league titles and reached the F.A. Cup final five times between 1905 and 1911. After a long period of scant achievement, the Magpies repeatedly show stuttering signs of revival. But the club is still searching for a league title they haven't won since 1926-27, and which their fans, the Toon Army, crave
Thought we were worth more than £150m TBH now that Ashley has paid off nearly all of the debt

Newcastle still have about £64 million worth of debt according to that, more than likely they've been compiled months ago though!

Reportedly he paid £135m for the club and has since spent another £100m paying off debts. Can't find anything to say how much debt we were in to start with though so could be right
