My 1.4 sport is idling high since fitting an inlet manifold, but someone suggested that when a corsas headgaskets goes, this can cause it to high idle.

Ever heard of this before folks?

whats your throttle cable like. i had to fanny about with mine a bit when i fitted my inlet. take your air filter off and put your hand over the throttle body. it should cut out if you have no leaks

even a tiny tiny leak will cause it to idle high. theres tons of threads posted up about it. if it was running fine before then it cant really be anything else

If it used to idle ok and all youve done is fit this inlet then its not going to be the headgasket. Never heard of a failed headgasket causing a high idle either, have you got all the pipes connected properly and none of them have split while you were fitting it?

Well one of my mates a while ago suggested that my headgasket could be on its way out, so i thought id find out if this could have anything to do with the idle.

Id guess it is a leak, but god its hard to find!

But a headgasket definitly wouldnt cause a high idle then?

Cheers folks
