Dabs
My main concern would be that JJB are probably going out of business the way Dave Whelan goes on... closed a load more branches (retail stores not gyms) recently!

I'm a member of the wigan one, as with all gyms, if you go at the peak times, its busy, but never too busy that you can't get on anything
Pool is good too
27.50 for me a month, not bad at all really i don't think

I used to be a member at one, it was really good. Full of posing wankers but theres loads of machines compared to the local one, plus its further out so you don't see people you know in there.
If I was going to join a gym again i'd drive a bit further and go to the JJB.

im a member of the jjb but the little one near jjb stadium and its always dead, but its being knocked down to make a car park and bigger swimming pool for the bigger jjb gym, if you get me. There good gyms with good facilitys, obv if you go peak time its going to be busy.

the gym i used to go to was like this, monsters covered in tattos growling
best bet imo is buy your gear for your garage.
i train with my mate but he was missing training alot recently so i coudlnt train so i got my own bench and stuff for when he cant train ill train on my own in my garage.
got the bench and 45 kg of steel plates and barbell for 55 quid second hand. bench is golds gym and near enough unused. absolutely mint.
bought a tricep bar and curling bar
dumbell set
2 extra ten plates
4 extra 5 plates
4 extra 2.5
4 extra 1.25
4 0.5
ive now spent 135 quid and have enough weight to train as i would in a gym etc
only difference is in my mates garage he has a good cable machine as well for seated cable rows and lateral pull downs (all we use it for really) but im training with him all the time anyway so if i come accross a gd mutligym for a good price ill snap it up as well
