no Drew you don;t understand at all. thats not scientific at all.

a good cone filter set up with good air flow will give you some extra hp when your moving and the engien bay is getting filled with cold air. however when your in traffic or stuck at lights and the is little or no cold air going in the filter gets hot as does the ambient air. also with a cone filter you usually lose low down torque due to the los of pressure you get changing from the air box.

when your on the rollers there is a gust of wind blowing over the open bonnet and up any cold air duct. thats not represent 'normal' driving conditions.
