Ok so Sheva has said that he's leaving AC Milan, fair enough, obviously this is with a big money move to Chelsea in mind - however, as far as I can tell there is nothing that has been reported so far that any agreement has been reached between Chelsea, AC Milana and Shevchenko himself, so from what I can see he has said he;s going to leave without any definate confirmation that he'll be playing for Chelsea!
We all know that Chelsea have plenty of money but that doesn't mean they will be held to ransom by a playing wanting to move there as it seems like is happening here, we also know that Chelsea don't mind paying over the odds for players (SWP, Drogba....) but what happens if Chelsea want to pay AC Milan X amount but AC want Y amount, what if Chelsea want to pay Sheva V amount per week but he was hoping for W amount?
So many variables and if a deal isn't done then what happens with Shevchenko? He's admitted he wants to leave AC so if he stays his heart will be elsewhere and surely the fans won't be too happy with him still being there when he'd rather not be, but on the other hand if a deal is done then it sets a scary precident for other players that Chelsea are agressively pursuing - it sends out a signla that all they have to do is say they wish to leave their club and Chelsea will take them in - whichever way you cut it this is bad news for football imo.
Opinions?

Well from what I've read so far AC Milan are saying " We agreed he will leave Rossinieri, but Chelsea will still have to top 30million if they want him "
Just because he wants to leave, doesn't mean Milan will take a reduced price.
The positive thing is, Milan and Shevchenko have parted on friendly terms, and Galliani accepts and understands his choices.

Have Chelsea actually made any headway towards signing him. I cant remember reading any where that they had actually come out and said they want him. Though please correct me if I am wrong. I know they have said they wish to buy 2-3 World Class players. I wonder if the press just decided one of these would be Shevchenko and Shevchenko has though 'money, yes'
I dont know though

I think Chelsea are delaying Schevchenko move till the see what happens with Carlos Tevez, as he's agreed personal terms with Mourinho himself, Chelsea are trying to secure Tevez's signature before the World Cup.

To prevent creating more threads on transfer news , Man Utd are close to signing a Brazilian superstar, I said this kid would be snapped up by a major Euro team last year, it seems I was right, his name is Kerlon Moura de Souza and he plays for Cruzeiro, only 18, complete class.

We are apparently in talks with Kalou from Feyenoord fuck nows why.
Schevchenko ok fine but hes 29 so 30million is utter shite.
Sad to see another youth product Carlton Cole who scores almost every game he starts (ok lower opposition) leave for Spurs
pisses me off we have tonnes of young players England under 17 through to under 21 and we never give them a chance!

Football is money orientated now, big name players mean big money nowadays.
Every major team is guilty of it, but Chelsea are just spending all at once, because they can, whereas Arsenal or Man U have spent over a gradual period.

Arsenal have more money available than Man U, have done for a few years but he still chooses not to spend it
Shevchenko is not that good these days and anymore than £10-12m is an absolute joke, mind you if Andy Jophnson is worht £8.5m....
Also as above Shevchenko is 29, thats getting on for a striker like him :S
Corinithians would be MENTAL to sell Tevez before the world cup
Kerlon looked OK but a complete nob (the head thing, cock!)
I hope Arsenal sign Torres and Curtis Davies and try to get SWP but doubt either will come!

Quite
If Owen was worth £8m with 1 year left and Henry ditto (ish) then Shevchenko with 1 year left was no more than £10m

But he had 3-4 years left on his contract, thats why he went for £30m

I think there's more to this transfer than the people know, I wouldn't be surprised if he moved because of a threat from Abromavich or something.
