is there anyway or measuring the ET on alloy wheels if the ET isnt stamped on them.
any help much appreciated

to get the offset of a wheel its a bit wierd. Is it not stamped on the wheel?

Its measured from the centre of the rim, so if you have a 7in wide rim, you need to be 3.5 inches in from the edge. From that point to the back of the face where the bolts come through is your offset or ET measured in millimeters

The offset is the distance (in mm) between the centre of the wheel (looking side on) and the point at which the wheel is in contact with the hub.
