I deleted 2 folders off my external HDD that totaled over 30gb as I was running out of space.
After deleting them vista still reports only 4gb of free space?
Any suggestions?

XP?
Slowly developing a dislike for vista myself. Encountered my first two incompatabilities with vista the other night, very annoying.

Have you got some software like Norton Undelete? That used to save the files for a while and often led to incorrect space being reported.

The default settings for System Restore and Shadow Copies (including previous versions) munch up quite a bit of space. I had 30Gb disappear overnight on my MediaCenter after moving some DVD images around!
