Oh dear that is shit! Anyone in the motor trade could tell you that it would be in there best intrest to have the old unit back as a surcharge. They make more money back of it, i used to work at BMW and the surcharge scheme was shocking! We used to send Starter motors back as air con compressors an all sorts. TBH it doesnt matter if its the wrong part (which is very minimal) they should still have issued you with ur refund. Trading standards FTW if you ask me.

Independant garage i use there were no other BMWs there that day.
Even if the racks are the same as a 318 then the rack they sold me would be for a 318 no? So wheres the problem>? Its just an excuse.
Put in a credit card claim so hopefully that should sort it. Otherwise that and me getting clamped has cost me £300 this month 
 So angry.
