Just wondering.
I am looking at getting my car colour coded, and have been quoted £240 from one place, and £150 from another

The 1st place has an oven, which they would obviously use
And the second place doesnt

What would the difference in finnishes be? As i really dont have a clue!

use the place with the oven, if anything see it as a commitment from them that they are dedicated to their work.

TBH if ur a good painter u can do it without an oven and use heat stand things.
Ive seen my mate put out numerous cars that have a perfect finish, including a Ferrari 355.
His own XE Nova has a glass like finish and that was down without an oven.So it is possible to get just as good a finish without an oven.

My old corsa was done in a place that didnt have an oven, and had a real nice glossy finish, but that is down to the way the paint is finished afterwards (mopping and polishing).
A place with an oven will ensure that the paint has hardened properly and it is more of a controlled environment meaning less dust/dirt in the paint.

I don't have an oven in my workshop, but lots of cars have been painted in there with great results. I'd be looking for a place with a booth if anything.

The oven has an advantage of drying the paint quicker so there is less time for any contamination to drop in the paint, but saying that, if they have a booth then the extraction would take care of that problem anyway...

Its near £100 in difference Id be asking to see some off there work to see what kind off finish they can both produce, just because 1 place has an over and the other hasnt doesnt mean they are any better, its all down to the person thats doing the painting, skills
