lookin to try and improve the sound and performance of my 1.4 16v corsa sport. thinkin mayb a k+n filter and a new backbox? any suggestions on where/what 2 buy. cant really afford full exhaust system but is there a backbox that will give better performance?

You wont gain any performance from a backbox really. Best performance gain for these engines is a new inlet manifold, there are dbilas and mantzel ones which are quite expensive or there are people (some on here) who do copies with similar results.
An induction kit will make it sound as though youve increased power because these engines really scream although you wont really gain a lot of BHP.
An induction kit and inlet manifold is a good start and if you want to change the exhaust tone get a backbox
