We've had Sky HD for a while now and no problems with the box - had a lot more trouble with our old Sky+ box which went tits up more often than I changed my socks (which is about once a month).
Plus BBC HD isnt anything to write home about - half of the England footy games at Wembley werent even on it.
Sky Sports HD and Discovery HD is where its at.

Dont get me wrong, when they are working and theres something worth watching the picture is fantastic but i just couldnt warrant the extra cash per month for the odd chance that something decent is actually on.
You get one lot of decent programs a year with sky then for the next 11months theyre repeated over and over and over again..

I've pretty much decided to wait until they release some boxes that can record - then go with that through freesat.
Thanks for the discussion though

The current news about the Humax Freesat PVR is that it'll be out for xmas, costing around £250. And there is going to be a load of new channels added before the year is out, bringing the total to around the 230 mark.

C4 HD is already here. ITV HD is exclusive to Freesat (at the moment).
I personally loved BBC HD for Euro 2008. Absolute quality. I have kept a few games saved just to show off the quality if anyone asks.
