Ok you geeks may be able to help me out here 
I've got a new laptop (finally!) however my ipod/itunes etc are all saved to my old dinosaur laptop. Does anyone if I install itunes to my new laptop will I lose all my tunes on my ipod? And ifso is there anyway I can get around this?
I apologise in advance if this seems like a silly question but I'm not 100% aux fais with certain techological things And thanks for any help/advice in advance!

From my experience, if you plug your ipod into your laptop the only thing you can do is format it which means losing the songs you have.
Only thing i can think off is get a USB/external HDD.
Songs from PC onto HDD, then onto laptop.
Plug ipod in, format with laptop and put songs back on.
Probably not the easiest or best way but certainly a way round.

Jakey- if you could explain in simple terms about how to do the formatting etc I would very much appreciate this And how to put the songs on an external HDD Muchos gracias

There are programs that will copy the songs back in to iTunes on the new computer.
Sync the iPod with your old computer, then:
