Was just on my way home form work and noticed a Scamera Van in the layby. The road is 50. Tapped the brakes and looked down and was doing about 55. so tapped the brakes abit harder.
How much do you think the speedo is out on a corsa?
Any advice (apart from dont speed ect...)?

do they track you over a distance or as soon as they see you they knwo the speed your doing?

I usually have fairly good reactions when I see one but my mind was elsewhere today.

i thought it was 10% +2 tolerance tbh.
making it 57mph max in a 50mph zone.

but as matt says i think they can get done over 51mph.

Thay generally get you when they see you, not you seeing them; usually its to late by then.
Scamera vans iirc work on tighter speed restrictions compared to fixed cameras so they can easily do you for 52mph in a 50mph one, at the end of the day its what the individual pig sets the machine at.

I thought the tolerance was different according to which police force it is, Pretty sure up here its 10% +2 but other forces might be different

not all the way around though. the faster you're going, the more your speedo will be out.

at 30mph mines dead on, at 40mph it's 1mph out, at 70 is 4mph out.

According to our GPS mine's 4mph out, but so's my dad, so the GPS is just terrible in that sense tbh haha.

The one in the work van is cable driven and all messed up so reads about 5mph more than what you're doing, and jiggles about Only temporary van though

Edit - on topic - iirc those vans can pick you up from 1km away, so by the time you see them, it's so late you'd have to reverse time to get away with it.
