I really dont see the reason for going for a 1.3 over a 1.7

just for the record i cant rember what sort of rpm it was doing at 80 but 4000rpm was 100 ish in the 1.3

Not bad then, if I could do 100mph in the 12v, it'd be 5krpm

There is quite a sizeable insurance difference between the 1.3CDTi and 1.7CDTi especially as the 1.7 is badged as an SRi

I can name you several. As I just did this.

Better MPG,
Cheaper tax bracket,
Cheaper to insure,
Cheaper to buy,
Plenty nippy enough to get you from A to B.

All helps when you're saving for a house on a low wage
