Mines gone all floppy


Opened the car door and it made a loud kind of cracking noise. Now its lost its spring and kind of just dangles
central locking etc all still works fine etc just lost its spring. Could something have popped off?
Not really taken the door apart before


Any pointers apreciated

probably the lug that the spring fits onto, its easy to remove and replace.

Do you have to take the inner door card off and all that jazz or is there a way of doing it from the outside?

door card off, ratched wth long extension and (think its 10mm) socket through the holes and unclip the handle bars, pull handle out
