do you just replace the pads in such a way that nothing else needs adjusting etc as ive done mine but not bolted the assembly to the car yet but i litertally just changed the shoes and there is a threaded shaft with nut etc which obviously spins for SOME reason but i dont no why, is it just to do with the handbrake and i just ignore that????

thanx carl

That's the adjuster, you need to adjust em up don't just build em back up. Just put the drum back on then spin it, if it spins freely take it off, turn the nut a few clicks, try again. When it's right it should spin fairly freely but you can hear the shoes rubbing the drum slightly

Should just automatically adjust even when the drum is on, mine did.
