Text Blue alrite my l reg corsa gsi has a missfire i am getting aprox 210 miles off a full tank onthe motorway. i can smell a strong smell of petrol when the car is ticking over. does anyone know what could be wrong or where i can start to find the fault. thanks!

Are you sure there is no leak? There are a number of reasons for smelling fuel and poor MPG other than overfuelling so unless youve had it on a wideband lambda sensor you cant say for sure that it is overfuelling.
But 2 good places to start would be the coolant temperature sensor and the lambda sensor

i g40t ti mention the engine managment light is on, and one of the spark plugs are a bit oily....

Oily spark plug? Does the car smoke at all?

not really there is a very slight smoke, its like its burning fuel , :S

Slight smoke? Any smoke isn't really good mate. Oil in spark plug would surely point to head gasket problems?

Oil on a spark plug will be worn rings or leaky valve stem oil seals but on an engine thats 15 years old thats to be expected.
Try reading the fault code out and see if it tells you anything usefull, there is a guide on how to on the topbuzz website

have a look to see the condition of the cooland temp sensor, my redtop was overfueling as it always fort it was cold, i found out it had a broken wire on the loom going to the temp sensor.
simply fitted a new plug and it ran sweet and engine light went out
