why do you need to get to your LAN settings so quickly, I realise vista does take 3 whole clicks, 1 whole click more than XP to get into the LAN settings, but its not where i spend most my time..
also, dumb user your pretty hat and mountain of debt doesnt make you an expert sunshine, infact it seems to have made you a bit of a cunt

Shane, not sure if you've tried this.
It got mine working today with same problems as you described.
On my laptop I'm using for connection, I go to network connections and do the usual -> right click connection and do properties - > share connection ticked on.
Then switch windows firewall off.
Then switch my laptop off and my xbox off.
I connect the cable from the xbox to laptop. Turn on the xbox. Once xbox is started, I turn on the laptop.
Once that's fully started and i can get online on the laptop, I go into xbox and test connection (automatic, no manual stuff).
It flies through. By the laptop starting up after the xbox has been on it helps configure the connection better.

nope tried all of that, infact ive been tryin to get it to work for the last 3 months,
sorted now though, got the laptop to reset to factory settings, plugged it in an its worked straight away.
NOW ON XBOX LIVE MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!1!!!!!!!!

I played Gta 4 online in free play mode tonight, was funny as fuck.
