as above whats the difference and how are they done?
gonna book my car in at the bodyshop 2morrow 2 get 2 rust spots sorted before the winter but am a bit worried my car will look patcy and i dont wanna spend like £1000 on a paint job for a 1.2 so was wondering whats the difference between a full respray and a blow over?

iiirc a blow over is when the flat it back down to base and then re-lacquer. Don't hold me to that though

a blow over is basically respraying over old paint, a decent bodyshop wont even offer that as its crap

there is no such thing as a blow over, correct term is blending in. basically the same as corsa tomtom, whole car is keyed up then the areas which need colour(the repairs) have colour sprayed on flicking with the gun into the surrounding areas, then the whole lot is laquered. This means there is no difference in colour and the whole car has the same finish. hope this makes sense. Cost wise it is cheaper to blend panels instead of full colour as you use less material.

but to add to toms reply, if your going to go to the full extent of getting it all painted i would have all parts done and every part based up as for the extra cost is it really not worth it?

what kind of price will it roughly be?

cheers graeme, the price varies from car to car depending on how many reairs, the size of repairs and so on. A full colour respray not including shuts would be around £1500 including minor chips dents and scratches. hope this helps, best thing is to get a few quotes and then decide where you want to go from there

it all depends what damage there is on th car, extent of stone chips etc which is why most places wnt give u prices for a job unless they see the vehicle.

its not really worth payin that amount for a respray on a 1.2.
the paint work is better than most cars of the same age but has 1 or 2 tiny dints and a fwt stone chips on the bonnet.

depending on dent sizes they could possibly get a pdr in, (paintless dent removal)
on your colour i would advise th front end to be painted if you were gona get it done so paint bonnet and bumper and blend down the wings as its a bit of a not so good matching mettalic green but again that will bump the price up
