basically, my girlfriend is wanting to get her car metalflaked (rainbow) and I was wondering if its required to be fully reprayed, or if its possible to just get a bodyshop to mix with laquer and paint over the top (sort of like a blow over), as she wants the same colour.
i know it wouldnt be as good, but its not really an expensive car so dont really want to spend to much.
and car in question is a tigra, dark blue.
cheers guys.

Yes it can be done, on the cheap if you need it but do bear in mind you'll also usually reduce it's resale value should you wish to sell or in the least make it a good deal more difficult to move on.
You also have the issue that if one panel is damaged it will be very hard to match.

yeah body shop can do it, if you want it cheap though and 2 look good you have to make sure theres no crap cheap spot repair paint on it, no rust anywhere and they would probably have to repaint front end aswell because of stone chips
also they probably have to get metal flakes of the internet because some places dont stock metal flake
