Just bought it... Opinions?
It's my 4th HP Pavillion, and I'm impressed with each one I buy!
may upgrade the RAM at some point, but it's seems quick enough.

I got the special edition model...

Send it back.
Dell studio 15, same specs as that except 3 gig of ram and dedicated graphics, 560, for the same price you could have either 4 gig of ram or a 320gb.

More expensive and diabolical support?

Hate Dells. And I'm a qualified Dell technician, so I've seen plenty of them.
The HP does have dedicated graphics also. None of the previous units have let me down either.
Considered an Acer, until I saw it up close. Cheap plastic.
I'd say I probably do have a brand loyalty for HP though...

Is the studio 15 straight from Dell? The ones I've seen online don't have have bluetooth, wireless N, pioneer dvd burner (360 games), media remote, carry case, mouse and have a slower cpu clock speed with slower FSB and less cache, and also a lower spec radeon gpu.
And also, their printers suck.

Direct from dell, I specced the same processor at that price.
You'd get wireless n and bluetooth for 600 but not the remote and case.

I've never found their support bad? But, tbh, I probably know more than the money sat at the other end of the phone these days!

Family member bought one against my advice, I got it when it broke.
After spending literally days trying to get a hold of them, sitting on the phone in work for hours at a time trying to get through.
Spent about an hour talking to an indian who eventually agreed to get it picked up although I offered to swap the faulty cd drive myself.
Was away for a bit, came back exactly the same way it left me.
Gave it back to the people who bought it and they had to go to pc world to get it sorted.
No use complaining on the phone if you can even get through.
Complained on their survey, nobody ever got back to me.
Dell you might have to deal with an indian but they'll make sure they fix it for you.

At the end of the day, if you know NOTHING about computers, you go buy one from PC world so you can take it back there if you get problems.
If your an IT prof, you find a certain make that you like and that fit your needs. At the moment, mine is HP. Dell strike me as overpriced...

Dell overpriced?
Not a Dell fan as said, but they do have very good value for money deals.
Just prefer HP stuff
