Am I right in thinking that you can use XML to build a web page? Say for instance, instead of using DIV's with ID's and Classes you can just make your own tags up as you go along and defining their style in a style sheet?

I just opened an XML sheet in Firefox and it said something along the lines of not being able to display the XML sheet correctly because it has no style sheet and I was wondering what you could do with them.
