Random google page about flocking
quote:
Flock can be used on any non-porous material. Becuase of it's durability it is ideal for vehicles. Flock is also used by many vehicle manufacturers for items such as glove boxes and boot interiors etc. Most WRC rally cars use flocking throughout the interior for many reasons - some of the benefits are listed below;
Provides an anti-glare surface - Ideal for dashboards
Reduces condensation build up,
Can help towards hiding marks and scratches,
Creates sound insulation,
Reduces resonance and noises such as rattles,
It doesn't absorb water as it is waterproof,
Creates heat insulation,
It is a lightweight option,
It is extremely durable

It's a velvety type of material that is appliead in powder form to plastics to cut down on glare or just make the surface a bit plush.

Not sure, but hope not cos I want to get it done.
The biggest problem I would have thought is getting whatever you want flocked, to come out of the car without damaging it or anything surrounding it.

You can do it yourself, not sure how much the kit is to buy though, pretty dear i would think. The only one i can think of with pics, who did it himself is Joff on png, he did a great job of his.

i was under the impression the flock was apllied with itself or the item beeing covered having been statically charged
if your going to do it youself, your need to set aside 5 hours to rub your dash with a balloon to get the desired affect

i reckon a normal corsa b dash will be about £150, + the fact your need to remove the grain from the dash

I paid £80 to get my old corsa c dash done.
Basically Glue is sprayed on, then the part is given a negative charge and a positive charged flock material is sprayed at the dash and its sticks really well.
but you need an airline after you get it back as there is loads and loads of littel fibres that dont stick and there for ever going onto the clocks, center console etc.
