I had a Western Digital 200Gb drive (8Mb cache), it was probably a one-off, but the drive was knackered...
Two different computers recognised it as three different sizes (my BIOS saw it as 8Gb until flashed, then it recognised all 200Gb), but Windows refused to see anything above 120Gb. A mate's computer saw 200Gb in BIOS, but only 160Gb in Windows. The drive refused to install any version of Windows properly, without errors.
Took it back, they acknowledged the fault, but didn't have any other 200Gb drives in stock, which was good because I didn't want another one like that. So, took a Maxtor 120Gb instead, and they refunded the price-difference.

My seagate Barracuda 120GB is great, very fast, reliable and deadly quiet.
