She seems to have little amount of pedal and also the handbrake light has come on constantly (and no handbrake isnt on),

could this be low brake fluid? where is the resivoir?

Check the brake fluid definately, I think on the clio its on the drivers side, at the top of the engine bay and just top it up with dot 4 brake fluid
