if its just a road car you wont need it.
If you are going to be doing a few summer trackdays you may as well fit one.
If you do fit it, MAKE SURE it is thermostatically controlled. If you have just a direct circuit through the cooler at this time of year it'll prob do more damage than good. The oil will take ages getting up to temp.

how do u blanke it off tho ? they used to do a blankeing plate but no1 dus them any more

TBH if vauxhall had it as standard it should be there, for vauxhalls if it's there it's there for a reason.
