3G Internet Anywhere Card - Into Wireless Router For Home Use?
Basically, i have an internet anywhere dongle and 3G card from orange. £15 a month.
I also have virgin broadband which i have a wireless network to for all the pcs, laptops in my house. £18 a month.
Now, the Virgin broadband is always down and is doing my head, so i thought i wonder if you can get a wireless router box that you can use with the 3G internet anywhere card.
If so, i could get one, cancel virgin and save £18 a month!!
Im sure i heard they do make them, just wanting some help on them and advice on which ones / what i will need.

Draytec do a router with a USB connector and you can plug 3G dongles into that we use them at work, works on orange, voda etc...
its a Vigor 2700 i think?

It wont work as the 3G datastick uses software. the way of doing it would be connect it to a computer and share that internet connection.

Also, wouldn't 3G be incredibly slow if everyone is on the net at the same time?!

What Dan said. You could build a crappy PC that is always on soley for internet use and then share the connection.
You'll go through 3 GB very quickly at home though?

I would hate to see the bill for the average surfing only home user, let alone you BT'ers

We use them with 3G dongles connected in the front.
The router uses the 3G as the access point as a backup or a primary connection source.
We put the routers in a box and there mounted to the top of poles with IP cameras on for monitoring building sites, we FTP the images back to our server then build time lapse videos of the buildings going up.
We have Orange and Voda sims in them.

Was my little project, works really well! 
Its connected to a 3mp Dual Lens IP cam with a 16Gb SD card, It takes a snap shot every 30 mins, keeps a copy on the SD, then FTP's it to our server in the office (for backup)
The building is taking 2 years to build then at the end of it we will stitch all the pics together and have a time lapse video of it going up!

just use an IP cam connected to a wireless access point, (same as above) and chuck a wireless broadband router in the home and then bridge them with WPA or sumit, and use that conection rather than a 3G one, would stream loads better.
