hi. my brother in law has a birthday soon, and i want to get him a good game. thing is, he only likes games like tomb raider where you have to solve things and games that are dead long. he already has the new tomb raider coming, so what other xbox games are decent and massive play time, that are also like challenging. note-games like cod dont appeal to him

something like fable 2 might appeal
I've heard game play can very long and there are plenty of puzzles etc to solve.
I'll be getting it when my xbox returns from repair

I completed fable 2 in a day? Not that long....unless i missed something
Although I didnt do all the side quests, they get boring after a while, cheap atm though, £20 from GAME i think

Portal which comes with The Orange box is brilliant, its not massive but very challenging on harder difficulties. Dunno if ou can get it on its own.

Dead Space or Condemned 2 if he likes scary games. The former is third person like Tomb Raider, lots to solve on both games too.
