£65 exhaust that I bolt on to meet noise limits, maybe needed a couple of times a year
OR
£500 on a new system to bring it down under the db limit all year.
hmmm, tough one? Not really tbh.

Come on James, there are lots of full systems that will fall well under the db limit at tracks.
But as said, Dave cannot afford this currently, so it'll have to do...
But its begging for a PS of some sort
how much is a full twin box system with the correct bore for a xe of daves spec ? £600
this was £100 tops id imagine
am i missing the point here

Analogy:
1. a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based: the analogy between the heart and a pump.
2. similarity or comparability: I see no analogy between your problem and mine.

really havent got time to have an argument over me saying something is a well known fix in track day circles etc, whilst 99% of people disagree about how a track day car looks, where as in reality people really dont give a shit
most situations you will be given a warning and then chucked or a trackday for noise levles, no refunds, no second chances, places like bedford have live noise meters which when tripped notify the council, and thats it, your day over, i would pay £100 and get loads more track time in than pay £600 and not be able to afford to get any days in, just like i have done

Blimey James, you in a stinker mood today
Check what i've written, and what you've written
Floral wallpaper was an example.
AS in, you can get wallpaper, that is cheap, looks terrible, but it does the job of covering the walls (i.e Daves exhaust, cheap, looks bad, but does the job).
OR
You can get higher quality wallpaper, costs more, but looks much better, but overall does the same job (another system, more money, same job, but looks much better).
That better for you fella Chill winston

Daimo, the first owner of my backbox paid well over £200 squid for it, so not exactly cheap in the first instance

Or £15 on some wadding, cut open your silencers, pack them out, then weld them back up.

Will that ENSURE it will make it as quiet as I need it to be? No.
Do I have a welder? No.
So not easier, or cheaper, or with a guarantee.

So Dave drives to track with standard noisy exhaust
Dave gets to track fits Leyland DAF silencer
Dave drives around track with silencer
Dave finishes track day without any noise issues
Dave removes silencer at track
Dave drives home with standard exhaust
WTF is wrong with some of you idiots honestly

...and I don't think this looks anymore stupid than the ridiculous silencers that Coombe dish out that rub along the ground and look like a 20 inch floppy cock dragging behind your car.
