is the sump on a 1.4 sport the same as the 1.6 sump?

The sumps are the same but the pick up pipe is different, ive just put a steel 1400 sump onto my 1600 16v motor and the pick up is different.

Whats the pick up pipe? can you get away with using it then or not?

Not unless you want to kill your engine by starving it of oil.

Is there no way of modifying the pick up pipe so it works ?
and whats the difference between them both like?
