I've got hold of an oldish P4 Dell pc which i am going to use for playing few games such as Fifa and also the odd hd film. I think the processor should be able to handle this but will obviously need an upgraded graphics card.

Can someone point me the direction of some suitable ones? I think it has PCI and PCI-E slots free.

Cheers

You may find the HDD needs an upgrade too if it's very old

No idea about graphics cards, sorry.

You could get a GeForce 8800GT 512MB on ebuyer.com for a good price, I think I bought mine at just over £100.

You will probably need a new power supply, though, as normally manufactured PC's like Dell's etc will have a PSU just powerful enough to run it, to save money.

Any good graphics card has quite high power requirements these days. I can personally recommend the Corsair VX-550W to run the 8800GT 512MB.

I'd agree, I'd go for the Sapphire one.

Yeah, that or a GeForce 7950GT are about as high as it gets for AGP. The 7950GT is really hard to get hold of though, last time I checked.

You can get the ATI card for £55 here: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140585
