as mentioned revo do switchable maps (and im pretty sure you can have standard map, high boost map and a low boost map) would cost a fair penny though i imagine.

due to exchange rates and apexi putting the price up, your looking at paying £325+ for one at the minute brand new in either silver or black, but the black tend to go for a bit more!

Cheers mate nice one.

Switchable maps normally need you to plug the box in, choose and upload the map you want, turn the ignition off and on, then restart the car - not exactly a quick switchover although doesn't take too long.

Can't quite see why you'd want to 'switch at the lights though'....

If you go for a EDS map, you can have the sport button fitted so as you said, run standard during the wk, come the wk end unleash phase 2/3

i would say that the mapping would be better for the engine, as the fuelling would be right so you wouldnt have any risk of detonation or borewash when you are running one or the other.

Just means everything is controlled properly. Having read everything you've said iain, it does sound like the mapping would be the better option!

Megasquirt has on the fly switchable maps, boost control, launch/traction control

See HERE for features

Try HERE to buy

I have a megajolt in the kitcar, it is on carbs so i only need ignition advance and the like so not all the features that the squirt has.

There is a huge community of users and thousands of maps out there fro free to get you going, then a trip to the rolling road with your laptop to set it up.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
