iv been offered a engine, but it has no ecu 
how easy/hard will it be to get a ecu. and will anouther ecu work with the immo ring and chip?

Nope, not if the ecu, key and immob ring are all from the same car.

Get an aftermarket system fitted. You'll not need to mess about with little chips and making sure it's all coded.

how much would that set me back?and with that do you not need the chip and immo ring. but it will have to be mapped right? £1000 total?

i've got an ecu here and a load of other spares. You could use any ecu and get it coded costs around 100 quid to get done. And seems the sets seem to be around 200quid plus on ebay. Buh if you need the ecu let us know and could sort summit out

the old ecu has to of been reset, so you can reprogram it to the system

about 100quid. Or think it was 150 to unlock the ecu and by pass the imobiliser was going to do it to mine buh going stand alone. Also there is a way or just wiring it out. Buh i won't share that on a public forum.
