how is it all in darkness as i was under the impression if half was in dark half would be light or am i being thick???

been to death valley. car broke down and we were stranded for about 8 hours waiting for the recovery truck. could hear rattle snakes when it went dark. was scary at the time but pretty cool looking back.

Those lights out at sea are Hawaii, Cook Islands, Canary Isands, Terciera and neighbouring islands, Bermuda, Mauritius etc etc.
