My dad was heading from Altens in Aberdeen back to Stonehaven (a few of you may know the road) coming round the left hand bend to join the dual carriageway. The back end stepped out, possibly because of ice, not 100% sure, he managed to catch is and hold it instead of spinning, but that was possibly the wrong thing to do cos he ended up rolling it up the grass verge on the left hand side and back down again into the slip road with the car eventually landing on its side. Definitely a write off.
Thankfully my dad is fine. He got climbed out the car with only a cut on his finger and a bump on his head.
Shame he just had the wheels refurbished and powder coated, put 4 new tyres on and filled the tank of petrol. Typical
Certainly not a brilliant way to see in the new year.

It's a car though, the important thing is that your dad is ok. TBH, I think this thread is wrong, reading it, I thought your dad was dead after having a car accident, which is obviously what you looked to acheive by wording the thread like that. Not something you should even begin to joke about really. It's a car, get over it.

I agree with Robin, I also think that the way this is written is wrong.
Especially after a car I was travelling in arrived at the scene of a fatality around 5 minutes after it had happened last night, where a 23 year old pedestrian was hit by an ambulance:

Sorry guys. I didn't actually mean to make you think my dad had died. As eddiewhiteley said, i'm hardly going to use the thread title, "oh bugger" if that was the case. Serves you right for jumping to conclusions anyway.
I know its only a car, but i'm still upset about it.
Colin, the frustrating thing is, he wasn't going to be getting rid of the rs. He was gonna keep it as his daily driver and have the new one as his weekend toy.

The thread title has always been, "Oh bugger" but the first line was, "I had to say goodbye to a beloved family member last night" i.e. The RS, not meaning my dad.

As crap as it is, it would be a sin to keep the new one as a weekend toy, as thats what the 911's for surely?
