6th pic are relays
7th pic are newer style relays

It's all very interesting when you find out how damn complicated and safety in mind it's wired in.

Ste W..............

Are your pictures from a families day at RAF Coningsby by any chance? I spy a couple of Eurofighters that my partner works on. Been in the hangar before with them and it all looks very familiar.

I work for Clyde Pumps Glasgow (formerly Weir Pumps) as a mechanical engineer, currently in the last year of a 4 year apprenticeship. We make pumps for all sorts of applications for large industrial businesses, from drinking water pumping stations to nuclear power stations reactor cooling pumps.

Colin, you might know about the HSP (downhole) pumps used for extracting the crude oil from the tip of a drill?

Some of the products I help manufacture:

(The last one there, you could almost stand upright in the flange (open bit) you can see.

These pumps below are lowered into a concrete volute that acts as the pump casing. They're quite big, as you can see from the bottom picture. We've currently got a couple in the work that are almost double the size of the one shown though!

(Sorry for shitty small pics)

EDIT: Website for anyone that fancies a look. Don't think I'd be able to get you a discount though, sorry : http://www.clydepumps.com/

They are all from inside 302 hangar at BAE Warton. I didn't take the pictures (we aren't allowed cameras in work) They are just what i found on the BAE website.
