ive got a power boost valve at the moment, and i know its putting to much fuel in, i can buy a gauge to show exactly how much it is putting in, but ive heard they like to adjust them selves and not that reliable..

so i may just save the hassel and get me a standard fuel regulator, but im not sure if it will fuel my car with enough fuel for the modifications..

its got:

power box inlet
cams
4-2-1 manifold and exhaust
filter

not major but obviously needs more then a standard engine..

can anyone help please..

Its in the haynes manual, Only way to check the fuelling is to get or borrow a wideband setup to check it.

When your at part throttle the ECU will correct it provided that your lambda sensor is working ok (they only last about 50k miles) but at full throttle the lambda is ignored and fuelling is totally dependant on the pressure youve set it at.

Chances are its throwing more in than standard and a rich mixture makes a lot less power

found out standard is 3 bar which seems alot imo as rs turbos with beige injectors only run 3 bar :S

and ive been told by the previous owner mines running 4.5 bar :S

im getting a fse fuel presser gauge off my mate tomorrow so il fit that and see exactly what im running..

But RS injectors will flow a lot more at 3 bar than the X14XE ones

You measure the fuel pressure with the vac pipe removed from the regualator too or you will get a false reading.

Best way to do it is get it set on the rolling road or with a wideband

once i get my injectors back from being cleaned, tested and rebuilt, its going to jamsport..

but im not sure whether a standard fuel regulator is worth having with my engine mods etc...

or keeping the fse boost valve and get it setup with that, but ive just heard the boost valves like to vary etc on there own..
