i have a noise coming from my steering colum
a mechanic at work said it could be a bearing starting to go in the colum or the unerversal joint at the bottom but he needs to look at it for longer to be sure

if it is either of theese would it be expensive and hard to replace ?

also if anyone else knows what it could be could they say

it happens when the wheels are still and then i suddenly jerk the wheel its not a constant noise just taps when i suddenly move the wheel sounds like its comming from inside the car though
