hi
i have just bought some fk coilovers from lmf vauxhall
ive fitted the rears and they are fine.
i put the fronts on and they were fitted correctly and left the adjuster as they came. i have the cav slasbs on with 195,45,15s on and the sidewall rubs against the spring height adjuster:S if i lower it anymore it would be worse, but if i higher it it clears, butt then it just looks not fair off standard height?
the only thing i can think it is that the tyres are too wide but 195 isnt exactly wide :S
any ideas???

Getting it tracked and balanced (camber) helped when i put my coilovers on.
As initially when i put my C/O on and lower it rubbed but once i did the tracking and balancing it wasn't rubbing anymore.
And if your lowering (ideally) it'll need to be done anyway as the geometry will be out
Good luck with the kit m8

rightt i adjusted the camber today and it brought the wheels away from the coilovers, i adjusted them all the way out, there is still a really tight gap between them but its loads better and i can go lower now lol which i have a fair bit im getting the tracking done soon as its wayyy out. but wen i go over bumps there is massive clonks from the coilovers, feels like the springs are about to jump out. is this common? thanks for the help!

there should be the main spring, then a seperate smaller spring bout 150mm tall, really springy. ITs there to hold the main spring in place when the car is jacked up. How much have you lowered it?

Remove the helper spring or fit shorter springs so you can run the same ride height but with the adjuster screwed higher up above the tyre.

no... he said he owns the really cheap ones....
which are FK AK's... which only have one variable poundage spring... NO helper spring...
there should be a set of 3mm wheel spacers in the box with your coilovers... whack them on and see how much clearance you have..
you will need to get the camber adjusted properly and the tracking done for it to be sorted out...
or... failing that.. go to demon tweeks and buy a shorter spring... and fit that instead... so they go just as low but without the adjuster plate rubbing on the tyre...
but its not a solid 2 1/4 inch top and bottom on the ak's..
the top is 2 5/8ths and the bottom is 2 3/8ths in diameter..
hope this helps..
