As part of an assignment I have to look at examples of interfaces that are used either at home or at your place of work and was just wondering what interfaces you guys are using?

An interface can basically range from a pc -> microwave as long as it has a chip in it and you can interact with it thats classed as an interface imo (for example you might use a particular bit of software or a machine at work which you control by pressing buttons etc)

The obvious ones are windows xp / vista but was just wanting to broaden my range of examples

At work:

Various controllers with set interfaces & algorithms used to run a process.
Interface cards to convert volt / mA signals into computer code via multiplexors & ADC's etc
Devices with inbuilt conditioning interfaces.

I read somewhere that the Americans sold us those two missiles but we had to come up with out own guidance systems, and in true British fashion we made an absolute arse of it.

The sidewinder is self guiding, it is heat seeking/thermal tracking. Maverick interfaces with the aircraft. I was on harrier GR7's when they were first introduced and never heard any bad stories, even from the beginning, it usually isn't the Americans as in the government that don't play nice, usually the makers of the weapons are huge rivals with the makers of the aircraft, so they don't give away too much. Lots of bollocks really. But still, nothing quite beats standing 3 feet away from a fully armed, war ready fighter, knowing that there is so much firepower on the thing to vaporise you haha.
