In a rafa sort of manner I'll state a few facts...
Lucas is a box to box player, as he will tell you himself. He isnt a defensive midfielder in his natural play, although being behind Gerrard means sitting slightly deeper than he'd play normally - but I'll take that to have Gerrard in an attacking role.
Masch and Alonso are both defensive midfielders and we play with them 90% of the time no matter what the opposition - and we are top of the league doing so. Alonso would of played other than the little matter of 7 stiches he needed on the inside of his right foot.
