If I get a 500K Ohm resistor in series with a 10uF capacitor, then in series with my interior light, it would dim out over 5 seconds. True??
I think it would work, but just want to make sure.
(by the way calculation for time = capacitance X resistance)

Time constant if RC so for fully discharge is aprox 5/6 RC down to about >1% so working on that I would say, to fully look off 25seconds. its all to do with discharge rate of the capacitor. It might be dim after 10/15s you neva know. If its too long change the resistor for a 220K ohm think is standard value

Alan, U2U sent.
I have the maplin kit, but its too hard to connect up, and it doesn't fade the lights, it just keeps them on for about 10 seconds.
