Are you just starting mate? They are very good starter cameras into the SLR world, smaller than most bodies on the market. Another thing to think of is a possibly a 400D (predacessor to the 1000D) 2nd hand off ebay with a couple of lenses

1000D is the new entry level one, 450D is a bit higher up.
More AF points and faster continous shooting, among other things that I can't remember.

yeah, been looking at them for a while as one would come in handy for uni and personal pictures also just looking for a good one really for around -£2/300 i was very close to buying that one i posted further up but its now sold out  might ring up.
