Somewhere near 150bhp 200bhp... Looking at about £4k for the conversion though to get that sort of power... I belive it can be done for less. Try a motorsport shop like Demon Tweeks, they will be able to help you choose whats right...

You cannot put a specific price on the price of throttle bodies. You can have the throttle bodies fitted then you will need it all mapping together, then the engine strengthining it goes on and on and on

allow lots of extra airflow into the engine by using one throttle body per cylinder instead of one for all four cylinders (on a 4cyl engine that is )

you do,

people have the mis-conception that they dont because a tb'd 1600cc block wont have as much torque as a 2.0ltr 16v would

The main difference is cost. A C20XE will set you back £1500, maybe £2000 at the most. But to get a C16XE to that power you are looking at thousands more. But after all the cost you will have a Corsa that will probably out perform a C20XE'd Corsa becaus there is such a major difference in weight. The C20XE tends to weigh the car down, but you could tune it to a far higher BHP level.

When you see them with no filters on that it is for show purposes. They will have a big spongy filter over them when the engine is running...

The only thing to need strengthening below 200BHP are the big end bolts and cam belt tensioners.

Pistond need to be replaced or pocketed if running high lift cams

Dont forget new engine management is also needed

I was thinking about putting a C16XE or a X16XE in my SXi at some point in the future, I'm not looking for mega power, just fun to drive.

How much power can a 16XE achieve with just the usual mods IE. Airbox, inlet manifold, full exhaust etc...

And will a corsa with this under the hood out perform a 1.8 Focus Sport S with 125Bhp? Rich kid mate starting to really piss me off coz his car is faster!

Thanks, Joe.
