 cancelled my advert as i have written in the advert that i dont accept paypal
why the hell should i have to accept paypal? i want cash on collection which i have written in the advert as i dont want people sending me money through paypal as
1) they can be arses and claim the money back once they get it.
2) it charges me to withrdraw money.
again why does everything have to revolve around paypal

Cos ebay own Paypal........more people that use Paypal, means more Paypal fees, which ultimately leads to more money for Ebay!

ps, only charges you 25p to withdraw money under £50. Anything over is free.
Fees to receive money are the worse... 3.4% of whatever they send, plus 20p nominal charge for administration.

its just annoying as hell as now people will want to pay through paypal more than likely want it to be posted out  .

no they arent forcing me to just use paypal alone they just wont let me state in my advert that i dont want to be paid through paypal.

They are forcing you to HAVE to offer paypal as a payment option though.

they dont, you just have to click the dont accept paypal option but accept other forms of payment, ie cash or postal order etc

nopes doesnt let me untick that box infact there is no box to untick for paypal payments.
cosmo: yeh they are i have just emailed them back asking why I am being forced to accept paypal, wonder if they will reply.

I honestly dont think they can legally force you to have to offer it as a form of payment.
Its like when Microsoft got done for forcing the installation of IE when you installed windows. Its not forcing you to use it, but it is forcing you to have it there as an option to use.

on mine i have to click that i accept paypal, are you using the simple version of listing a item or advanced?

relist and use the advanced option!! if it goes straight onto the simple version there should be a link for advanced right at the top

im not saying paypal has problems im just annoyed that ebay are forcing me to accept it as a payment methods.
I know one of out clients who uses paypal and ebay and has problems with his customers putting in disputes and winning even though they have proof of the items being sent and recieved by people.
so i dont fancy someone paying for it getting it and then claiming their money back.

yep, as a seller paypal is fuckin shite.
They ALWAYS side with the buyer, even if you prove you have posted summat. If you ever want to scam someone buy using paypal then put in a dispute. They will give you your money back no problem.
Also, waste of time emailing ebay. They have standard generic replies to every question. I have sent them the same question about 10 times for a problem I had, they don't answer my question properly so I say 'you haven't answered my question, I asked blah blah blah...'. Waste of time I have learned!

I agree with Cosmo. IMHO eBay are threading a fine line with their PayPal policy. I can see legal action not being too far away and the eBay bubble bursting. They have already had their scares with conterfeight goods and manufacturers of the real items pressing charges. The eBay/PayPal situation stinks hence I won't sell anything on there.
