What would I need to get the boot to pop open and can i use a fog light switch?
Anyone got any tutorials etc?

Would need a solenoid and the switch, would be failry easy to wire up.

Custom make your rear wiper motor connect to the rod that opens the boot, then just press the rear wiper and hey presto.

thats not a good idea lol. i had a boot popper that actually said that on the instruction. said just simply wire the rear wiper positive side to the solinoid and earth the solonoid body.
means if you are going quite fast and you press the wire on by accident your boot will open haha

Yeah Think its quite hard doing it though, cause it doesnt have enough push to actually open it, it sits on the first catch, guy at my work has done it on his old C, and put 2 springs either side of the boot lid to sort of bounce it open a little more. Hard to explain.
